The Reggae Around the World Team is proud to announce Reggae Sumfest 2014: The Greatest Reggae Show On Earth from Sunday, July 13 to Saturday, July 19 in Montego Bay, Jamaica! The world famous annual festival, features the best artists and DJs in reggae, dancehall and international music.  This year’s Sumfest features a week long celebration of music parties and concerts.  Check out our performer slideshows and event details below!

Take Flight on a Reggae Jazz Journey: Our Interview with Jaime Hinckson

Reggae music has no limits.  Whether he’s blending the genre with jazz, R&B or pop, Jaime Hinckson’s eloquent and passionate piano melodies soothe listeners everywhere.  At the age of 17, this talented young jazz pianist, from Miami, Florida, had the honor of sharing the stage with musical icons John Legend, Shaggy, Patti LaBelle, Al Green and Air Supply at the 2006 Jamaica Jazz Festival.  Now in his 20s, Jaime’s music has evolved into a unique style that appeals to a broad audience.  It can be heard on his debut album (Take Flight) that features both original songs and various cover tunes of Bruno Mars, John Legend, Bob Marley and Tarrus Riley.  Recently, we got a chance to talk to Jaime about his new album, career highlights, the story behind “Miss Mac” and much more.

Mighty Mystic Live ColorBoston based singer/songwriter, Mighty Mystic, has become a leading trail blazer in the East Coast Reggae Movement.  He and his live band combine elements of rock and hip-hop into their distinct “Hard Roots” style.  His hits “Need Your Love”, “Lamb or Lion”, “Original Love” and most recently – “Concrete World” are all  featured on the prestigious VP Records’ You Tube Channel.  Additionally, Mighty has shared the stage with reggae heavy-hitters such as Damian Marley, Sean Paul, Shaggy and Beenie Man (just to name a few).  We got a chance to sit down with Mighty to talk about music, life and reggae’s healing powers.

Stevie Face,  AlaineCezar and Benjy Myaz  are just some of the artists Mario Evon has sung backup vocals for during his singing career.  Now, he’s emerged as a solo artist and has performed extensively in both the Caribbean and United States.

As a graduate of the prestigious Berklee College of Music, Mario Evon’s reggae-soul fusion is nothing short of amazing.  His unique sound earned multiple performances at the Jamaica Jazz & Blues Festival (2009, 2010 & 2013), opening for Marion Hall, Jon Secada, Hall & Oates and Gladys Knight.  His hit singles, “You Used 2 Love Me” and “Love In Di Mawnin”, continue to serenade audiences everywhere.  Recently, we got a chance to chat with Mario about his music, the Jazz and Blues Festival and more.
